Hi 👋. I’m Reiann, your friendly neighborhood pet person!

Caring for animals has been an important part of my life since I was young. Growing up I had guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, and rabbits as family pets, so I became very comfortable working with different kinds of animals. My family couldn’t have dogs in our home, but I had many dogs and cats in my life through close friends and family. I’ve always appreciated the important role that pets and other animals play in humans’ lives, which has strongly driven my thoughtful, individualized approach to pet care.

Pet care started out as something I did in my spare time, simply because I enjoyed it. My career for many years was in early childhood education, where I worked in school environments, children’s museums, and private care for families. Meanwhile, I would watch the pets for friends, family, and neighbors when they traveled or needed an extra hand. Eventually I grew a community of pet owners that would call on me regularly for help. In 2020 when covid restrictions were put in place, I had to pause my work in education, and shifted my focus towards working with pet more. This time in my life really highlighted the joy that working with pets brought me, and in 2024 I was inspired to finally create my own pet care business.

My goal when starting Reiann’s Reliable Pet Care was to offer dependable, relationship-focused pet care that meets the needs of both pets and their families. I’m always going to provide the highest level of care because that is just in my nature, but I make sure to communicate with pet owners to make sure that any information specific to their pet’s routine, personality, or preferences are being considered.

I live right on the borders of Laurelhurst, North Tabor, and Hollywood neighborhoods, and there are so many great things about this part of town. I love being able to walk to Laurelhurst Park, feeding my hummingbird “friends” outside my back door, the Hollywood Farmers Market, and beautiful nature all around. By focusing on providing care locally, it allows me to be more available, flexible, and offer greater convenience for the families I work with, especially in moments when last-minute care is needed.

I’m excited to continue working with more amazing pets and pet owners in my community. I really want my services to feel more personal, like you are calling on a trusted neighbor.
